FAQ

Q: Do I need to be a 'yoga pro'?

A: No! You can be an absolute beginner. Our teachers are used to adjust classes to students of different levels. We will, however, try to group students of similar skills levels (in case you wish to join a group). Be aware, however, if you intend to book an intensive retreat that this will be physically and emotionally demanding. If you are a beginner, we suggest you book a more relaxed yoga holiday first - with a maximum of 2 classes per day (for example, one yoga and one meditation class).

Q: What equipment do I need?

A:You will need to purchase your own yoga mat and comfortable clothes.

Q: Is Yoga Moon a tour operator selling packages?

A: No. We are a travel intermediary ('middleman'). We offer the yoga package, that is the yoga classes with travel service. We do not 'sell' the accommodation and transport. We do all the arrangements for you: look up suitable accommodation and transport; negotiate and quote the prices; we can do the reservations for you and make sure everything runs smooth during your trip. Your yoga teacher will also be your 'tour guide' - always be there for you, arrange the room for you, discuss everything.. But you will pay your hotel and transport bills directly. Thus, you are free to change to a nicer and more expensive room or pick the restaurant you like, for example. However, we are always there to help you and talk with the providers for you. You can relax.

Q: If you don't sell the 'package' - how can I be sure that I get what I was quoted and that the quality of the accommodation is what I expected? How can I then be sure that I will not arrive in Thailand and suddenly there is no room for me?

A: Our yoga teachers have lived in Asia for many years, therefore we know all the service providers we recommend to you. We have tested them! Moreover, Daniela is fluent in Lao language and also speaks Thai, so rest assured that the prices we negotiate are VERY fair. However, this is Asia! Sometimes a booking may be forgotten; the price may suddenly change a little bit between the time of the quote and the actual payment - we have no control over this. Therefore we add 10% to the quote we tell you to account for the 'unexpected'.

The major difference to a 'packaged' holiday, where you pay one lump sum to one organisation and get the entire package, is that you need to pay the individual service providers directly. If, for example, you decide for a luxury yoga and spa holiday, we will recommend a hotel and transport, negotiate the price, and quote the price. If you decide to book fast, the price is very unlikely to change. We will provide you with the details of the providers, the reservation number, you contact them and pay your bill. Thus, you have a guaranteed booking with the hotel, for example.

If, however, you are adventurous and wish to travel to remote villages and stay in low-budget bamboo huts - there will be no chance to pay in advance. You need to be a yogi and flexible - we will contact the bungalow owners in advance and make a reservation, but again, this is Asia! We may need to suddenly find an alternative accommodation. Here, again, put your faith in our experienced yoga teachers and guides - they will do their very best to find a nice alternative for you.
